Straight-talking advice for smarter financial decisions.

As independent financial advisers, we review the whole market to find what genuinely works for you. Our advice is objective, transparent and tailored to your needs — and so are our fees.

Below, you can see exactly how we work, what each stage involves, and what you receive in return for every pound you invest in our advice.

How we work

Our six-step planning process

After more than three decades, we know our long-term approach works. Select each stage of the wheel to see what’s involved and what it costs.

01At our cost — no obligation

First meeting

A relaxed, no-obligation conversation with one of our qualified financial planners — a chance for us to get to know you, and for you to get to know us.

  • Meet a qualified financial planner
  • Tell us what help and advice you’re looking for
  • Learn about our services and charges
  • Ask questions and understand exactly what we do
02Part of planning fee — from £2,000

Research & analysis

We carry out an extensive assessment of your circumstances, then apply our knowledge and whole-of-market independence to find the options that genuinely fit.

  • Understand your objectives and priorities
  • Review your existing arrangements and personal circumstances
  • Assess your investment knowledge and attitude to risk
  • Check the suitability of any plans you already hold
03Part of planning fee

Discussion topics

Before we recommend anything, we work through the questions that matter — so every option is tested against your real life, not just the numbers.

  • What outcome is needed to meet your objectives
  • The tax implications of each available solution
  • Whether the costs and charges involved are fair
  • How flexible the solution is if your situation changes
  • What protections are in place should something go wrong
04Included in planning fee

Recommendation report

Your personalised report is our formal, regulated advice — setting out our recommendations and explaining clearly why they’re right for your objectives.

  • Clear recommendations tailored to your goals
  • Specific product and investment selection where appropriate
  • A plain-English explanation of why it’s suitable
  • The risks highlighted — of action and of inaction

Implementation — a tiered scale that rewards scale

Our implementation fee for lump sum investments and transfers is a percentage of the amount invested. The more you invest, the lower the rate on each additional pound.

Amount investedRate
The first £250,0001.5%
The next £250,0001.0%
Anything above £500,0000.5%

Worked examples — total fees including a £2,000 planning fee

Investing £250,000 → implementation £3,750 → total £5,750

Investing £500,000 → implementation £6,250 → total £8,250

Investing £1,000,000 → implementation £8,750 → total £10,750

Fees can be deducted from the amount invested and paid by the product provider, or invoiced directly — whichever suits you. For regular savings plans, our implementation fee is no more than 50% of the first year’s contributions, payable directly or spread over up to 12 months.
